Math – Algebra
“I hate math!”
Fuji Syusuke laughed at the childish antics of his girlfriend, “Even if you keep saying that, your homework isn’t going to be done by itself.”
Mikage Sera turned to the tennis tensai, her dark hair tied in a loose ponytail and she pouted, “I know that, you don’t have to tell me.” Fuji chuckled behind her and she returned her attention to the series of mathematical questions on her notebook. She stared at the numbers beside X’s and Y’s connected by multiplication signs and an equal sign which lead to another series of numbers and variables. She groaned softly, feeling a headache coming.
“Do you want me to help you?” Fuji offered with an amused smile.
“No thank you,” Sera answered, finally picking up her pencil and eyeing her small eraser wryly. “I’ll never pass this if you keep on helping me.”
“But I thought you didn’t understand?”
Sera frowned, half-ignoring her boyfriend who now looked over her shoulder. She put a hand on her forehead and started to answer the third question, “I do. It’s just that the process is so long it makes my head hurt.”
Fuji chuckled, “And here I though you were up to long and strenuous activities.”
“Hm?” Sera kept her eyes trained on her assignment. “Oh, yeah I am, but math makes me too impatient,” she answered after Fuji’s question fully registered in her mind. She sighed and closed her eyes after she finished the fifth query, “Two three more to go.”
“The fourth one is wrong Sera,” Fuji pointed to the said mistake, “It’s suppose to be X = ½, not 4,” he explained.
Sera gaped and reddened in embarrassment, how stupid could she get? “Shoot, I forgot that I was supposed to get the reciprocal before multiplying…” She absently scratched her head, “Sorry…” she murmured before redoing the fourth question all over again. After she was done, a satisfied smile stole over her lips and she turned grateful to the tensai, “Thank you for helping me anyway!”
Fuji laughed and dropped an affectionate kiss on her forehead, “But I hope that you’ll be patient with me.”
She stuck out her tongue playfully as she taunted with a smile, “Only if you promise not to be a geek, then maybe.”
